Press StatementArtHatch and Distinction Gallery are pleased to present a new show featuring the art of Aaron Jasinski and Matt Linares, entitled "It All Comes Rushing In". Creating whimsical and surreal imagery, these artists approach their art with a layered and dreamlike quality. The Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 6-10pm with Live Music by Nick and Mel, complimentary Wine and Stone Brewery Beer for guests 21 of age or older.
Aaron Jasinski grew up in a family of musicians and the love of music is a major influence in his visual art. His paintings often feature musical and nostalgic themes peppered with social commentary and whimsical creatures utilizing a Technicolor palette. Jasinski's paintings have shown across the United States and Europe. He also illustrates children's books, album covers, and creates electronic music.
Born and raised in Southern California, Matt Linares spent most of his childhood near the beach, soaking up the sun and drawing everywhere he went. With the help of a turquoise crayon and many sheets of paper, Matt's journey into the world of art had begun. Years later he moved to San Francisco to live and study Visual Effects at the Academy of Art University. Here he fell into the painting world. Today he has shown all over the United States, Europe, Asia, and Canada. He currently lives and works in Portland Oregon.
The exhibition will run from May 12 - June 2, 2012
ArtHatch is a 7000 square foot building which houses the front gallery: exhibitions changing monthly, "The Alley," featuring new and previous works from over 75 artists, the teen room featuring artwork by 6 local teens, 14 artist studios, ranging in size from 150 to 800 square feet, featuring the work of over 28 local artists, and "The Lounge", containing 8 walls featuring local artists. The front gallery features contemporary and cutting edge artwork.
