ArtHatch presents the 2nd Annual art exhibit devoted to hot rods and customs of distinction, "IMMORTALIZED: Then and Now", an art exhibit and auction that will feature some of the most prominent car artists to date including Big Toe, Sara Ray, Squindo, Chris Froggert, and more. All artworks will be auctioned of starting at only $100, the auction will last through the month ending on September 1st and proceeds will benefit Palomar College Scholarships. In conjunction, there will be 24 incredible cars parked out front by invitation from Chick Koszis, Hot Rods & Custom Stuff, and Escondido's famous "Cruisin' Grand". The event will draw custom car owners from around the country including many who have invested over $500,000 into their cars. In addition there will be new cars from Heller Ford and Mercedes-Benz of Escondido to satisfy the "Now" portion of the matches. Sales people will be available for questions and on site purchases. The Opening Reception will be held on Friday, August 10th, 2012 from 6-10pm highlighted with pin up girls from Cuties for a Cause passing out goodies, STONE beer provided by Stone Brewing Co., catered food and wine provided by Vinz Wine Bar, gelato courtesy of EscoGelato, and live music by Gino and the Lone Gunmen. Cost will be $15 for the event, with proceeds to benefit ArtHatch (501(c)(3) organization) and Cruisin Grand. Find out more info at http://arthatch.org/autoshow/. The exhibition will run from August 10 - September 1, 2012. The auction will end both online and in the gallery at 2:00pm PST on September 1. ArtHatch is a 7000 square foot building which houses the front gallery: exhibitions changing monthly, "The Alley," featuring new and previous works from over 75 artists, the teen room featuring artwork by 6 local teens, 14 artist studios, ranging in size from 150 to 800 square feet, featuring the work of over 40 local artists, and "The Lounge", containing local artists and ArtHatch's teen studio, a program that gives free studio space, exhibition space, mentorship, and art supplies to teens age 15-19. The front gallery features contemporary and cutting edge artwork. A variety of art books, prints, and gift items are now available as well as an in house art supply store.
