Martita M. Foss

Martita is a Southern California native and artist that is based in North County San Diego, California. She has an art studio at Distinction Gallery in Escondido.

Recently, Martita completed a Bachelor of Art degree at San Diego State University with an emphasis in Painting, Printmaking and Book Arts at San Diego State University. She also received a Minor degree in Women's Studies . Martita will apply next year for the graduate Women's studies program at San Diego State University.

In the meantime, Martita hopes to continue researching a future in Art Therapy. By implementing Art Narratives as the focus and an emphasis on Color Theory, she hopes to served humanity though this progressive approach in Art which leads towards healing and well being.

For the last twelve summers, Martita has been an artist in residence in Star Lake, Wisconsin. This job includes promoting local art for a non profit organization and also working with volunteers in a seasonal environment in a restored (original) Schoolhouse in Star Lake, Wisconsin.

When she is not creating in her studio, she is on the road traveling. She loves hiking, birding, reading and cooking.

She has three grown sons, two that reside in California, and the other son who lives on the big island of Hawaii where her magical grandson also lives.
