Distinction Gallery is pleased to present WALLFLOWER, a new exhibition by celebrated painter Kelly Vivanco. Originally from Southern California, Vivanco has exhibited works across the U.S., including the Portsmouth Museum and Art Basel. Her playful paintings evoke children's literary illustration as well as vintage photography and dreamlike nostalgia. The new pieces balance familiar themes with new concepts, expanding her oeuvre in a manner sure to delight and intruige.

Vivanco draws from the real and imagined world to populate her works with a host of playful and curious characters. She takes inspiration from vintage photographs, children's literature and the oddness of her dreams. Shehas exhibited in solo and group shows across the U.S. including California Center for the Arts Museum, The Portsmouth Museum of Art, Thinkspace, SURU, Gallery 1988, Subtext, Rotofugi, Flatcolor, 323 East, London Miles, Art Basel and Orange County Center for Contemporary Arts. Kelly Vivanco's art is available for sale and is collected in the U.S. and abroad; and her daily comic, Patches, has a world-wide following. She currently resides in Escondido, California.

Vivanco has created 20 brand new whimsical paintings for the exhibition, many of which have custom frames made by her husband, Peter Hillier. The opening reception with the artist, open studios, live music, and drinks available from Last Spot by Hidden Hive will be held on Saturday May 13, from 6-10pm.

The exhibition will run from May 13 - June 3, 2023.
