Catherine Coan

Catherine Coan is a hybrid taxidermist, curator, poet, and professor living and working in Los Angeles. She was a judge on AMC television's competitive taxidermy program Immortalized. In 2016, L.A. Art Show invited her to create a full-room taxidermy installation. A short film based on her Canary Suicide series premiered at SXSW in 2011. She holds a M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of Washington and trained at Advanced Taxidermy Training Center in Thompson Falls, MT. No animals are killed for her work.
