España Garcia

Espa?a Garcia is an artist currently residing in San Diego, Ca. She received her Bachelors in Art History, Criticism and Curating from UCSD in 2010. She moved to the U.S. at the age of ten with her family from Mexico. Before receiving her degree, Espa?a took her last two electives in painting, not knowing they would change the direction of her life. It was there where she met her art teacher and mentor Ernest Silva, who played a large roll in encouraging her to become the artist she is today. Moved by the late professor's words "Our gifts are not for us to keep," Espa?a began exploring her art style, which consists of paintings done on wood, and murals that are inspired by our oceans, street art, all fauna, surrealism, and the human condition.
