The mix of artwork on display reflects my love and study of fine art over the
past thirty-five years in a variety of subjects. My passion for watercolor was discovered when I initially started to study with well-known local artists, then on to higher education courses, and finally to a private Academy in Florence, Italy. My experience in opening a local gallery in the Twin City area of Minnesota and teaching Beginning Watercolor led me to explore and experiment with other water-based mediums, followed by oils and pastels.
Currently I am happiest when mixing my mediums to express what the viewer sees on the canvas, reflecting my style of combined abstract and sometimes adding bits of representational art. The process is a path of experimentation in layering of gold, silver, and copper leafing adding papers and other found objects creating reflections and texture through layers of acrylic paint.
It is my desire to draw the viewer into my pieces with light and color to share the appreciation of both that is within me.
