Melissa Hyson

Melissa Hyson is an advocate for utilizing the arts as a means for healing the human spirit and bridging cultural and social gaps within our communities. Melissa has recently transitioned her lyrical and poetic artistry into the world of visual arts where as a Creative she believes in the continued cultivation and evolution of artistic expression. Her accomplishments have included such projects as Africa Sing Me Your Song, a documentary drawing attention to the AIDS pandemic, and her recent acoustic release of Apples & Summer. Through her current project, ispeaksapien.com, Melissa intends to highlight the commonalities woven into the fabric of humanity, foster open dialogue in an effort to bring understanding of varying cultural perspectives and celebrate an artist?s ability to capture these complex concepts through visual arts. Melissa is new to the Distinction Art Gallery family and is excited to be named among such gifted and talented local artists.
